HID Conversion Kit Compatibility Guide

Q:     My vehicle has a sealed beam setup (H4351, H4352, 4000, 4040, 4412, 4412A, 4413, 4419, 4435, 5001, H5001, H5006, 4421, 4537, 4551, 4651, H4651, 4652, H4652, H4656, H4656LL, H4662, H4739, H6545, H4666, etc). Can I convert to HIDs?

A:     The vehicle's headlamp system must first be converted from the sealed beam setup to a regular halogen setup (H1, H3, H4, H7, H8, H9, H10, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, H13, H16, 880, etc) before installing our HID conversion kit.

Q:     My vehicle has daytime running lights and/or an autolight on feature. Will this affect the operation of my HIDs?

A:     The effect daytime running lights and autolight on features have on vehicles vary by year, make, and model. We typically suggest that the daytime running lights and autolight features be disabled before installing our HID conversion kit. However, we have relays and capacitors which may allow continued use of those two features with our HIDs.

Q:     Why won't the bulb(s) I purchased from you fit right or lock into place? I’m sure that the bulb size is correct.

A1:    This particular year, make, and model may require a bulb holder. It may be possible to take the stock halogen bulb, remove the halogen component, drill a hole for the HID bulb's back end to go through, and secure the bulb by tape or glue. We also offer bulb holders for the H7, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, and newer Volkswagens.

A2:    The bulb design you have may be incompatible with this particular vehicle. One way is to make it compatible by modifying the tabs at the base of the bulb. Compare the bulb to the stock bulb and take notice of any minute differences between them. If the tabs are too thick or too big, sand them down. We may also have bulbs of the same type but with a slightly different design that may fit on your vehicle.

Q:      Can my vehicle use HIDs without problems?

A:      Most vehicles from 1990 and newer can use HIDs. However, there are some kits that are known to not work with certain cars. Because HIDs are usually aftermarket accessories, the vehicles they are being installed in are not specifically designed to use them. We cannot guarantee that our HIDs will operate on every year/make/model.
